spay/neuter programs

Please spay and neuter!

According to the ASPCA, approximately 3.2 million cats enter animal shelters every year and approximately 2.1 million cats are adopted.

Spaying and neutering your cat can not only reduce the number of homeless pets, but can also help behavioral and medical problems from developing!

HELP US, HELP THE CATS BY SPAYING AND NEUTERING!

WHY IS SPAYING AND NEUTERING IMPORTANT?

MORE REASONS TO SPAY & NEUTER:

Your cat will live a longer, healthier life by preventing the likelihood of uterine infections, breast and testicular cancer, less roaming, fighting and aggression. Studies show that spayed and neutered cats have average life expectancies twice as long as those not fixed.

Your pets will be much better behaved and many aggression problems can also be avoided. Unaltered cats (males & females) usually mark their territory by spraying strong-smelling urine in undesirable places. Also, a female cat in heat can be hard to control!

Decreased possibility of communicable diseases to be transferred. It is more likely for an un-neutered “tom cat” to escape and fight with neighborhood strays.

This increases the possibility of your cat contracting communicable diseases such as Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.

One un-spayed female, her mate and all of her offspring can produce 2 litters per year with an average of 2.8 surviving kittens per litter.
